The Parent's Role

Nehemiah Christian Academy believe in educating a child as a whole, which means to service the student’s mind, body and soul through education. In order to ensure the student’s success the parent or guardian must work in conjunction with the instructor and staff. You serve as a “learning coach” to your student, helping facilitate your students progress through assisting with daily assignments, homework and working to ensure that your child meets his individual educational plan or IEP. The instructor will communicate with you in various ways such as via e-mail, telephone, online, or even live conferences if necessary. Lesson plans  in your student’s journal will update you each week, on your students assignments, homework, and progress.  Other parents use their children’s favorite subject as a reward to give the child a break periodically from tougher subjects.

Instructors and parents work together as a teaching team, collaborating a team-educating approach. The parent plays an vital role to help the student become a success in learning and to help ensure the student is following through on his or her assignments—but the student is expected to manage his or her own time and schedule in a self directed environment such as our academy
.

Teacher Interaction

Our instructors believe that academic success leads to career success and that our strategies can aide to get them there. Our instructors recognize that there is more than one way of learning and all students do not learn in the same way. Providing students with the right tools and learning approaches will assist them in mastering their assignments.

A team of skilled instructors will work closely with your student to make their education a success, collaborative learning efforts such as brainstorming student’s assignments, assessments, answer questions, advice on how to improve performance as the course progresses.
It doesn't matter whether your child is used to being the head of the class, feeling left behind, or somewhere in between—we will set you on the right path, we will give you the best tools and we will support you as you guide your child through some of the best educational experiences ever created.

It will be rewarding as you watch your child enhance their learning throughout the school year.
